Fundraising Results Solidify Dr. Kim Schrier as the Clear Leader in the Democratic Primary for WA-08

Dr. Schrier’s fundraising numbers prove that she is positioned to take on Dino Rossi in November

Issaquah, WA, February 1, 2018—Dr. Kim Schrier raised more than any other Democratic candidate in Q4, according to FEC filings released last night, raising nearly $600,000 – more than the next two Democratic candidates combined.

In a crowded primary field, Dr. Schrier’s strong fundraising results solidify her as the frontrunner and prove that she has the momentum and support to take on Dino Rossi in the general election. In Q4, 90% of Dr. Schrier’s donations came from within Washington State, demonstrating immense grassroots enthusiasm for her campaign.

“I am so thankful for the thousands of everyday people standing alongside me as we fight to put this country back on a path that we can be proud of,” said Dr. Schrier. “These fundraising numbers confirm the excitement around, and passion for my candidacy that voters express to me every day. People in the 8th district are tired of a representative who falls in line with the Trump administration, without considering the needs of our communities. The 8th district deserves a representative who has lived here and understands the challenges families are facing. Last night’s numbers show that voters trust that I am the candidate who listens and will represent them. Also, I am the only candidate who can defeat Mr. Rossi.”

To further solidify Dr. Schrier’s frontrunner position, labor and women’s groups have rallied behind her campaign and will provide critical support as her campaign continues to build toward November. In just the two weeks, Dr. Schrier earned endorsements from 45,000 Washington Aerospace Machinists and from the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 5. These recent announcements, combined with Q4 fundraising results solidify Dr. Schrier as the Democratic leader and highlight the momentum building behind her campaign.
