Dr. Kim Schrier Accepts Debate for Washington’s 8th District

WA State Debate Coalition to host WA-08 debate on October 28 at Central Washington University

ISSAQUAH, WA – Today, Rep. Kim Schrier announced she has accepted an invitation to a candidate debate for Washington’s 8th Congressional district hosted by the Washington State Debate Coalition on Friday, October 28 at Central Washington University’s McConnell Auditorium.

Rep. Schrier has a track record of working with both parties to deliver for the 8th district and is the only candidate in this race who will protect a woman’s right to choose. Her opponent, Matt Larkin, has proven he is far too extreme for the 8th, especially when it comes to Washingtonians’ reproductive rights. He celebrated the end of Roe v. Wade and supports banning abortion even in cases of rape and incest, saying, “I don’t believe in the exceptions… for rape or incest or things like that.” He has made his position on a federal abortion ban clear, saying, “I can see a strong conservative Congress putting forward that vote to ban it nationally.”

“Thank you to the Washington State Debate Coalition for continuing to facilitate these important conversations that inform voters,” said Rep. Schrier. “Our democracy depends on thoughtful, open debate and I look forward to informing voters where I stand on issues and my record of fighting for the people of Washington’s 8th Congressional District.”
