Another Major Endorsement for Dr. Kim Schrier!

The Laborers’ International Union of North America, Washington and Northern Idaho District Council Endorses Dr. Kim Schrier for Washington’s 8th District

Issaquah, WA, March 7, 2018—The Laborers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA), Washington and Northern Idaho District Council and their affiliated Unions in Washington have endorsed Dr. Kim Schrier today for Washington’s 8th congressional district. The Washington and Northern Idaho District Council of Laborers’ endorsement further solidifies Dr. Schrier as the Labor movement’s top candidate in the 8th district race, building on endorsements from the Washington Aerospace Machinists and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 5.

“Dr. Kim Schrier is a fierce advocate for working families and is the clear choice for Labor in the race for Washington’s 8th district,” said Jermaine Smiley, Business Manager/Secretary Treasurer, of the Washington and Northern Idaho District Council of Laborers. “We are proud to endorse Kim in this race and look forward to joining her in our shared fight for a stronger 8th district. She is heads and shoulders above the other Democratic candidates and the only one we trust to take on Dino Rossi.”

The Washington and Northern Idaho District Council of Laborers represents 7 Union Locals and over 10,000 active and retired members in the Pacific Northwest, including laborers in construction, hazardous waste remediation, healthcare, education, maintenance, food service, aviation, and state and local governments.

“I am thrilled to stand alongside thousands of laborers across the 8th district represented by LiUNA’s Washington and Northern Idaho District Council, as we fight for accessible healthcare, good-paying jobs, worker rights, and workplace protections,” said Dr. Kim Schrier. “Today’s endorsement is a true honor and underlines my commitment to laborers and the labor movement in the 8th district. Together we will take on Dino Rossi in November and fight for Washington’s working families.”
