ISSAQUAH, WA – Dr. Kim Schrier for Congress has released a new TV ad, “Squeeze,” highlighting what Rep. Schrier has done – and will continue to do – to lower costs for people in the 8th district. Schrier introduced a bill that would suspend the gas tax until gas prices are under control, and she has led the fight to protect the 8th district from price gouging by big oil, so they stop ripping Washington families off while making record profits.
Rep. Schrier’s bill, The Consumer Fuel Price Gouging Prevention Act, passed the House earlier this year, and would penalize oil and gas companies for raising prices in a way that exploits consumers.
“Washington families and businesses are getting squeezed because of broken supply chains and corporate greed,” said Rep. Schrier. “I am leading the fight to suspend the federal gas tax to get prices down, and I’m holding big oil accountable so they stop ripping us off. I’ll keep fighting to bring down gas prices for the people of the 8th district.”
